This treatment allows a pet’s bloodstream to become saturated with more oxygen and can promote faster healing. The increased pressure in the chamber also helps to decrease inflammation. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is useful for a wide variety of cases such as wounds, abscesses, fractures, pancreatitis, Immune diseases, post operative ileus, and more.

During the procedure, the pet is placed in a comfortably sized oxygen chamber where the oxygen levels are increased to 100% (room air is 21%) and the air is pressurized. When the pet breathes in high oxygen and high-pressure air, it flows into the pet’s low oxygen, low pressure blood stream. This high oxygen blood is now in the pet to promote healing, reduce pain, fight infection, and inflammation. Pets will often feel calm and relaxed while in the oxygen chamber and many take naps throughout their treatment. Treatments typically last one to two hours.
