What Is A Pet Wellness Exam?
A wellness exam is a routine pet checkup to help maintain your pet’s optimal health and well-being. A Thrive Pet Healthcare exam includes a full nose-to-tail physical exam of your pet’s hair, skin, eyes, ears, nose, face, mouth and teeth, breathing, stimuli response, and more.
We’ll update your pet’s microchip if needed and make sure
recommended vaccines and booster shots are up to date.
During both dog wellness exams and cat wellness exams, (also referred to as pet physical examinations or pet checkups) we assess every essential indicator so you can be confident that your pet has received a complete check-up. Our focus at every Thrive Pet Healthcare clinic is on preventative care and routine maintenance to help ensure your pet's optimal health.
What Will My Vet Do During a Pet Checkup?
Your vet will review your pet’s medical history with you and discuss any concerns you have that are communicated to them. Your vet may ask about your pet’s lifestyle, diet, exercise routine, urination and bowel movements, thirst levels, and general behavior.
We offer routine yearly (twice yearly for older pets) options that include vaccinations, dental checks, flea and tick/heartworm parasite prevention, and anything related to your pet's optimal health. We may also suggest routine yearly blood work, fecal sample, urinalysis, or other diagnostic testing to screen for any potential health issues.
