Thrive Pet Healthcare has opened close to 20 urgent care clinics across the country

Thrive Pet Healthcare, a first-of-its-kind veterinary healthcare network with 400 locations across the U.S., announced the addition of urgent care to Thrive Pet Healthcare Round Rock’s existing primary care services. The urgent care clinic offers extended hour care for sick pets that require prompt access to a veterinarian, but do not have critical or life-threatening conditions that require surgery or hospitalization.

Thrive Pet Healthcare Round Rock Urgent Care is located inside the existing primary care hospital at 603 Louis Henna Blvd., Suite 190 in Round Rock. Urgent care clinic hours are 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays.
“Pets don’t always get sick or injured at a time when it’s convenient to see your primary care veterinarian and some conditions don’t warrant a visit to an ER,” said Thrive Pet Healthcare Round Rock Practice Manager Stephanie Cardona. “We identified an opportunity to meet the community’s need for after-hours, non-critical pet care while also providing relief to overburdened emergency hospitals. Our walk-in urgent care clinic in Round Rock serves as a bridge to address this gap by providing timely outpatient care that is often more accessible compared to an ER visit.”
Some examples of pet behaviors or symptoms that may benefit from urgent care include loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, eye or ear infections, fever, allergic reactions, itching, lumps, limping, minor wounds or injuries, or the ingestion of minimal toxins or a foreign object.
Thrive Pet Healthcare Round Rock will continue to provide primary care services such as wellness exams, vaccines, preventative diagnostics and dental care, spay and neuter, and end-of-life services Mondays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Round Rock clinic is one of Thrive Pet Healthcare’s 15 cohesively linked primary, specialty, urgent and emergency hospitals in the Austin area.
