Eye Care for Animals Philadelphia, the first Eye Care for Animals located in Pennsylvania and the 37th nationwide.
“Pets with eye conditions deserve specialized care, and I’m excited to return home to provide that expertise to Philadelphia families,” said Dr. Kathleen Rowan, veterinarian at Eye Care for Animals Philadelphia. “Our team is committed to improving pets’ quality of life by diagnosing and treating eye conditions that can affect their comfort, health and vision.”

About Dr. Kathleen Rowan
A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Rowan grew up in Berks County. She earned a bachelor's degree in veterinary and biomedical sciences from Penn State University and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Rowan completed a rotating internship at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, followed by a specialty ophthalmology internship at Animal Vision Center of Virginia. She went on to complete her ophthalmology residency with Eye Care for Animals in Wheeling, Illinois and Reno, Nevada. She gained extensive experience diagnosing and treating complex eye diseases in dogs, cats and horses, as well as a number of exotic species. Her clinical interests include cataract surgery, corneal disease and eyelid disorders.
Dr. Rowan is especially excited to be working with pet families in Philadelphia, combining her advanced training with her hometown connection. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her pug, Carl, and her one-eyed Persian cat, Opal.
