The center will house board-certified veterinarians in four specialty areas to address complex medical cases
November 30, 2023 (MIAMI) – This week, Southeast Veterinary Referral Center in Miami announced they will expand their pet healthcare services to include critical care, internal medicine, surgery and oncology while continuing to deliver emergency care for pets facing serious or life-threatening conditions. In a significant move to address critical needs in the community, the emergency hospital will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, starting December 11, 2023.
In addition to the enhanced services, the center will undergo a name change to
Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists Miami. The Southeast Veterinary Referral Center has been an integral part of
Thrive Pet Healthcare, a first-of-its-kind veterinary healthcare network with more than 380 locations in 37 states across the U.S., since 2021.
“This rebranding signifies a transformative shift, highlighting the comprehensive emergency and specialty services provided by our dedicated team and our affiliation with Thrive Pet Healthcare’s expansive network,” said Michelle Jara, Director of Ecosystems for Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists Miami. “In addition, with the upcoming transition to 24/7 operations, this change marks a new era in veterinary care in Miami. Our hospital will now be accessible around the clock for emergencies as well as offering top-notch veterinary specialists in critical care, internal medicine, surgery and oncology – all under one roof to address complex medical cases. This can be a game-changer for pet owners who would typically have to visit multiple hospitals to receive specialized treatment.”
Veterinary specialists have undergone years of education, training and experience focused solely on their specialty. They typically handle more complex or recurrent conditions or those that require sophisticated technologies, which are often unavailable at primary care clinics. Veterinary specialists work alongside the pet’s primary care veterinarian to diagnose, manage and treat the pet’s condition with a hands-on, collaborative approach.
“Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology such as digital X-ray and ultrasound machines as well as CT scanners to ensure pets receive the best care available,” said Dr. Steven Mensack, Medical Director at Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists Miami. “Our ultimate goal is to provide a haven for pets in need while setting new standards in veterinary care and advancing the field of veterinary medicine.”
