Dermatology for Animals Rockville offers advanced veterinary dermatology, allergy care and diagnostics for dogs and cats in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia area
ROCKVILLE, Md. (Feb. 12, 2026) – Pet owners in Rockville and the greater Washington, D.C., region now have a new option for specialized dermatology care. Thrive Pet Healthcare and its partner, Dermatology for Animals, today announced the opening of
Dermatology for Animals Rockville, a specialty veterinary clinic focused on diagnosing and treating chronic skin, ear, and allergy conditions in pets.
Demand for specialty veterinary services continues to grow in Maryland. About 49% of Maryland households own pets, including roughly 30% with dogs and nearly 19% with cats, highlighting the ongoing need for accessible veterinary care in communities, such as Montgomery County.
“Skin conditions can significantly affect a pet’s comfort and daily life,” said Dr. Rebecca Parsiola, DVM, DACVD, at Dermatology for Animals Rockville. “Expanding dermatology services in Rockville helps pets get answers faster and allows us to build treatment plans that improve long-term comfort.”
Veterinary Dermatologist Background
Dr. Parsiola earned her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a rotating small-animal internship in Washington, D.C., followed by a dermatology residency at Dermatology for Animals in Phoenix, Arizona. She completed the Dermatology for Animals residency program in 2025 and earned veterinary dermatology board certification the same year.
