Although whiskerDocs® team members are credentialed veterinary technicians, they do not operate as such in this context. Rather, they will provide you with information so that you can make the best decision on behalf of your pet. In many cases, they will recommend you see a licensed veterinarian in your state for treatment.

No, Thrive Plus is not pet insurance, but you can use Thrive Plus in combination with pet insurance.
Thrive Plus does not reimburse you after care. If you have pet insurance, be sure to submit your veterinary care receipt that shows that payment was completed.
Thrive Plus does not replace emergency or specialty coverage.
Thrive Plus provides upfront savings on eligible services at the majority of primary care Thrive Pet Healthcare hospitals.
Many pet owners choose to use Thrive Plus alongside pet insurance for more comprehensive coverage to ensure your pet is supported not only for preventive care, but also for unexpected accidents and illnesses.
Who Is Thrive Plus best for?
Thrive Plus is ideal for all dogs and cats and their owners:
Puppies and kittens who need frequent visits and vaccines that first year
Adult pets with ongoing preventive care needs as well as sickness exams
Senior dogs and cats who likely need more frequent visits and diagnostics
Pet owners who want predictable monthly costs instead of less frequent, but expensive invoices
Can I use Thrive Plus for emergencies?
No, Thrive Plus focuses on routine and preventive care as well as minor illnesses, surgeries, and dental cleanings at your primary care veterinarian. Emergency and specialty exams and care are not eligible for Thrive Plus.
Can I use Thrive Plus at any Thrive Pet Healthcare veterinary hospital?
Thrive Plus is available at the majority of Thrive Pet Healthcare primary care hospitals. You can check your hospital’s webpage to see if they offer Thrive Plus. Thrive Plus is not available at specialty or emergency hospitals.
How do I sign up my pet for Thrive Plus?
You can sign up on our
website or through the Thrive Pet Healthcare app. If you have any questions, ask your veterinary care team.
Is there a contract or commitment period?
Thrive Plus is a 12-month commitment with monthly payments or annual pay-in-full options. Details regarding renewal or turning off auto-renewal can be reviewed during the sign-up process online.
If you turn off auto-renewal before the commitment period is completed, monthly payments will continue through the commitment period and then membership will not automatically renew.
Can I cancel Thrive Plus membership?
You can request to cancel and we understand that situations can change.
Within First 30 Days
You may cancel within 30 days of signing up under certain circumstances.
If you haven’t used any membership benefits, then you’ll receive a full refund of any prepaid fees.
If you have used benefits, the value of those benefits will be deducted from your refund.
Special Circumstances
You may cancel without penalty and won’t be charged any additional fees if:
After First 30 Days
Thrive Plus is a 12-month commitment. If you cancel after the first 30 days for reasons other than those listed above, you are responsible for the remaining membership payments for the current term.
After the 12-Month Commitment
If auto-renewal is not turned off in your online Pet Portal before the commitment period ends, then membership will automatically renew and begin a new 12-month commitment period.

Can I use Thrive Plus with pet insurance or the CareCredit credit card?
Yes, many clients combine:
Thrive Plus for preventive care
Pet insurance for unexpected illness or injury
CareCredit for larger or unplanned expenses
Your care team can help explain how these options work together.

Does Thrive Plus offer anything for medications or prescriptions?
Yes, your hospital may offer promotions on certain products throughout the year for Thrive Plus members only via email. The 10% off services discount does not apply to medications or prescriptions, even if purchased through the hospital.
What if my pet has multiple conditions or special needs?
Your veterinarian will help determine whether Thrive Plus is a good fit based on your pet’s health, age, and care needs.
