New veterinary oncology practice expands access to specialized cancer care for pets in Nevada and neighboring states
LAS VEGAS (Aug. 6, 2026) — Thrive Pet Healthcare has expanded access to veterinary oncology services with the opening of
Veterinary Cancer Group Las Vegas, the specialty practice’s first location in Nevada and fifth location overall.
Located at 5231 W. Charleston Blvd., Suite 150, Veterinary Cancer Group Las Vegas provides specialized cancer diagnosis and treatment for dogs, cats and some exotic pets. The practice serves families in Las Vegas and throughout Nevada, as well as pet owners referred from nearby states.
“Learning that a pet has cancer can leave a family with many questions and difficult decisions,” said Dr. Michelle Silver, veterinary oncologist at Veterinary Cancer Group Las Vegas. “My role is to help families understand the diagnosis, talk through their options and create a treatment plan that reflects their pet’s medical needs and quality of life.”
Veterinary cancer treatment in Las Vegas
Veterinary Cancer Group Las Vegas develops individualized treatment plans based on each pet’s diagnosis, overall health and family circumstances. Treatment options may include:
Chemotherapy may be used on its own, following surgery or radiation therapy, or as part of palliative care. The medication, method of administration and treatment schedule depend on the pet’s type of cancer and individual needs. Veterinary Cancer Group works closely with primary care and referring veterinarians to evaluate each patient and coordinate care.
“Cancer care is different for every patient,” said Dr. Silver. “I take an integrative approach that considers both traditional and holistic treatment options, symptom management and the pet’s comfort. Clear communication among the oncology team, referring veterinarian and family helps everyone stay informed and focused on the same goals for the pet.”
Veterinary Cancer Group’s other four practices are in California: Culver City, Torrance, Tustin and Woodland Hills.
Veterinary Cancer Group Las Vegas is accepting new patients and referrals. Pet owners and referring veterinarians can call (702) 665-7561 or email
lv.info@thrivepet.com for information or to schedule an appointment. Appointment hours are Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
