Thrive Pet Healthcare Urgent Care Torrance recently embarked on a mission to ignite a passion for animals and veterinary medicine in young minds. Their team, led by Medical Director Dr. Lisa Mori, visited Arlington Elementary School in Torrance, engaging with 133 students from 2nd and 5th grades.
This wasn't your average classroom presentation. The Thrive team brought along a special "patient" – a friendly dog named Cinnamon Bear – who stole the hearts of the students. One group learned how to listen to Cinnamon Bear's heartbeat, while the other practiced bandaging skills on stuffed animals. The scene was filled with laughter, curiosity, and a genuine love for animals.
The impact went beyond the fun activities. Weeks later, the Thrive staff received personalized thank-you cards from nearly every student they met. The notes were filled with heartfelt expressions, with some students confessing they feared dogs before the visit and now feel comfortable around them. Others excitedly declared their newfound dream of becoming veterinarians when they grow up.
